Open Sesame

The show is open!!! What a wonderful evening! The audience seemed to love it. (And, don't worry, I didn't lose my coat!) Opening nights are usually a very friendly audience (family, friends, staff), but even so they still seemed to love it. I got a ton of chills during the curtain call while we were singing as I realized my first Union show was now open and getting a standing ovation! Yay!

The after party was a little strange cause I didn't really know anyone except the cast, but it was fun. I used my two drink tickets for Jack Daniels. Yum! Also, there were cards, flowers and gifts galore in the green room and dressing rooms. I got a small bottle of champagne and a small bottle of brandy, one from our lovely dresser the other from a castmate. Twas very nice of them. We opened our bottles of champagne in the dressing room and toasted. The brandy I think I will save for another time. I imagine there will be a moment when I say to myself "This is when I should drink that brandy from opening night!" And then I will do it, and it will be good.

1 down 65 or so to go! Yay! No more rehearsal (except when Understudy rehearsals start-which is Friday) so I don't have to be there until half-hour tomorrow (This is where Robert would tell me I should say 'today' since it is after midnight and technically Thursday, but whatever...)! Hopefully I will get alot of writing done. Since I won't have a day job, I told myself I had to use the time to work on my writing, so I will start that tomorrow (ok, ok, today)!

Half-Hour 7:30 Curtain 8PM Weeeeeee!
