Equity Day off! So, I spent it auditioning. My audition was scheduled for 12:05PM, but I got there early and ended up going at about 11:45AM. It went well! I sang my songs that don't let me down! I got a callback-which happened to be later that day-4PM. So I had 4 hours to kill. Robert decided to come with me into the city, so we decided to walk down to Times Square and see a movie. We chose Where the Wild Things Are since it was one of my favorite books as a child. I also, just as a side note, have the stuffed Orange Haired Wild Thing. I enjoyed the first hour of the movie, but felt it was probably a bit too long. 20 to 25 minutes too long, actually. But, let's face it, turning a 12 page children's book into a 2 hour movie probably isn't easy.
My callback also went well. They asked me to sing a third song-which to be honest I wasn't exactly prepared for since never in my life have I ever had to sing three songs. I did have more music but it just wasn't as suited for what I was auditioning for as I would have liked. The gave me a side (a monologue from one of the plays they are doing) to read, as well. Overall, I think the callback went well--so keep your fingers crossed!
Otherwise nothing too exciting to report. My drive back to DE was uneventful. Tomorrow, rehearsal is at 11. I'm looking forward to the run through, it should be fun. Sorry this post is so short and fairly lame, I'm quite exhausted. More fun tomorrow, I promise! Weeeeeeeeeee!
