It's been a crazy last few minutes. One of the delightful guys in the ensemble hurt his back and since we haven't had an understudy rehearsal yet, we have to go down his track in all of the numbers. People have been running around and making sure things work. Poor guy, I hope he feels better soon. Lots of happy thoughts for him.
Yesterday went well. It keeps getting smoother and smoother. In the afternoon, one of the ensemble girls comes on and rings a belI...well, she grabbed the rope, rang it and ended up with the rope in her hand no longer attached to the bell. Ooops! Haha. They fixed it for the evening show though. Overall the word to describe the day was (per usual for the last few days) exhausting, so I took a nice hour and a half nap on one of the couches in the green room during the 3 hour break between shows. I also spent time planning the food situation for next weekend when everyone comes down. I think I came up with a great lineup! I'm so excited. This week can't go fast enough.
We have another two show day today. I realized it is my first ever 5 show weekend (1 Fri, 2 Sat, 2 Sun). It is exhausting (I keep using that word. But don't worry, I'm not complaining. It's worth it)! I've done many a two show day, but not two in a row. I'll get used to it. I have to though, since later in the run we have days where we have 3 two show days in a row. woah! I'm fairly certain this couch I'm currently sitting and typing on will host my between show nap again. Yay!
Dan went up to New York with his mother last night to see the final performance of the current cast of God of Carnage-which is one of my favorite things I've ever seen on stage. It has one of the funniest moments I've ever experienced as an audience member-though I won't share it with you as I don't want to ruin it. Feel free to ask if you really want to know! Anyway, they brought me half-sour and sour pickles from 2nd Ave Deli for my lunch today! So I'm pumped for those! (Actually, I already ate one! haha...ok two...)
Alright, they just called places so I have to go on stage now. #1 of 2 and down a person. I really hope he feels better. Alright, here we go! Weeeeeeeeee!
